Obituary for Amber Mary LaFontaine (Youngwirth)

Amber Mary LaFontaine (Youngwirth) passed away on December 21, 2022 at Lake Shore Manor in Oshkosh.
Amber was born on December 7, 1925. She married Jack LaFontaine and had three children Cindy (Dennis) Meszaros, Paul (Betsy) LaFontaine and Patrick (Debbie) LaFontaine.

Amber is loved by her grandchildren: Adam (Kari) Meszaros, Matthew (Michele) Meszaros, Corey (Dee) LaFontaine, Jenna (Mason) Doberstein, Nick LaFontaine, Megan LaFontaine and Jack LaFontaine. She had seven great grandchildren: Reese Meszaros, Max Meszaros, Ethan Meszaros, Adrianna Meszaros, Iva LaFontaine, Elly LaFontaine and Jackson Doberstein.

Amber is survived by her sisters who loved to be together: Jacqueline Frank, Jane Eisch, Marlene Friesch and Judy Dadas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who knew her as "auntie Amber."

Amber was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack, her sister Connie Brown, her brother Eugene Jungwirth and her great grandson and angel Liam Doberstein.

Amber will be remembered for her perfect red hairdo and her stylish ways. No matter where she was going, she always needed to put on her lipstick. When she couldn’t do it herself the angels at Lake Shore Manor did it for her. Most of all, she will be remembered for her love and pride of her family and being together. She took care of many of the children throughout the family through many years including her great grandchildren. She loved her home and was proud of her independence there until shortly before her passing.

Our family would like to thank the staff at Lake Shore Manor for their kindness, compassion and constant vigilance in caring for our mother. We would also like to thank St. Croix Hospice for all the support for the family and exceeding our mother’s needs.

The funeral for Amber will be January 12, 2023 at St. Raphael The Archangel Church 830 South Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh, Wisconsin 54904. Visitation will be 9:30 am until 11:00 am with Mass following at 11:00 am with Father Tom Long presiding. A private burial will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to St Croix Hospice or the charity of your choice. Be kind to each other and call your mom!
