Obituary for Archie Paulson

During the early hours of Tuesday, December 12, Archie Paulson completed his earthly journey.

Archie was employed by American Can on the paper rolling line, and in his early years served in the Army. Archie enjoyed woodworking, biking, jigsaw puzzles, and played baseball as a youth, along with helping on the family farm. He was truly a handyman, and willing to put his talent to work helping wherever and whoever needed it. Archie, along with his wife Roene, were 30-year helpers at Bethesda Thrift Store.

He met his lovely wife, Roene (Ott), through a singles club she started. He was encouraged by Roene’s sister, Arletta, who said that he should go to meet other people. He did attend, and the two met, and the rest is history, with 54 years of marriage since March 1969.

Roene describes Archie as a man who was satisfied with many phases and experiences in his life. He was a faithful father and husband, a quiet, loving, and happy person who loved to share stories of his youth and work.

His surviving family that will miss Archie are his loving wife, Roene Paulson; sister, Barbara Abhold; three children, Steven (Sue) Paulson, Terri (Paulson) Harris, and Christi Paulson; five grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends he had met along the way.

Archie has now joined his parents, Alf and Fern Paulson; brother, Verley Paulson; and brother-in-law Ervin Abhold.

A celebration of life is yet to be determined. A memorial fund is being set up at Grace Lutheran Church at 1390 Breezewood Lane, Neenah, WI 54956.

Special thank you to the Hospice and American Grand care teams. Thank you for your attentive and caring touch.
