Obituary for Barbara Jane Granzow (Whipp)

Barbara passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Westbrooke Manor Assisted Living in Oshkosh, Wisconsin surrounded by her family. Barbara was born on September 29, 1938 and died at the age of 83.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Susanne T Granzow; parents, Bertilla and Leo Whipp; two sisters, Eileen Kaminski and Catherine Metz; and her former spouse, Wayne K. Granzow.

She is survived by her sister, MaryAnn Felix; daughters, Stephanie M Quigg (Charles), Peggy A Granzow-Hanley (Derek), Patricia M Granzow-Brenzel (Mary), Jennifer A Granzow, and Kathleen T Granzow; grandchildren, Nicole Heckel (Brandi Nelson), Sarah (Sean Sinsky), Micheal, Theresa, Aoife & Maeve Hanley, Daniel O’Keefe, Simon Quigg (Sofia), Dominic Brenzel; as well as two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a homemaker, a caregiver at Hillcrest Nursing home and a bank associate for Fox Lake Illinois State Bank. She enjoyed reading, tracing her family history, gardening, golfing, stargazing, camping, the Packers, the Brewers and especially her love for her dog Kismet.

Her most important job was that of a mother. She was an amazing mom who taught her girls to be strong, independent, persevere, to be kind and gentle, and to treat others with respect. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

A memorial service will be held at Haase-Lockwood And Associates Funeral Home in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin on Friday May 6, 2022. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Memorial Service to follow. Burial will be private. She will be buried at St. John The Evangelist Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to the family will be included in a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Oshkosh Humane Society in memory of Barbara J. Granzow.
