Obituary for Dale F Lenz

Dale Francis “Bud” Lenz was born on March 9, 1932, to the late Oscar and Barbara (Robel) Lenz in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, passed away in Oshkosh on March 3, 2024 at age 91.

He joined the United States Army – National Guard in March 1949 and served with the 32nd Red Arrow Division Unit, being honorably discharged in 1965, with the rank of Captain.

Dale furthered his education at numerous colleges majoring in Physics. Dale went on to teach Physics for 34 years at Menasha High School.

He married the love of his life and grade-school sweetheart, Jeanine Keller of Oshkosh, WI, on January 20, 1951. They were blessed with 71 years of marriage until her passing on May 15, 2022.

Dale is survived by sisters-in-law, Pat Keller of Oshkosh and Lois Last of Oshkosh; brother-in-law, Milton Barlet of Fond du Lac; nephew and caregiver, Russell J “Rusty” Lenz of Larsen; great-nephews, Michael Lenz, Steven Lenz and Andrew Lenz. He is further survived by the Harrison family of Tucson, Arizona, along with many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death his wife, Jeanine (Keller) Lenz; parents; brothers, Edgar (Lorraine) Lenz, Russell D. (Doris) Lenz; sister, Elaine (Gordon) Miller and Hope Gerstmyer; brothers-in-law, Orville Keller and Richard (Pearl) Keller and Howard Last; niece, Barbara Wojciechowski; and Vera Barlet.

Dale will be cremated and laid to rest with his wife at the Lake View Memorial Park Mausoleum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, at a later date.

He also wanted to say thank you to his friends, Wally (Mary) Maynard, Si (Karen) Meets, Frank Meyer, Sib Gallas, Kathy Spielbawer, Steve Meyers and Pam Bassette of Florida. As well as his retired ROMEO’s friends (Real old men eating out) at the 3rd street Diner in Menasha, for all of their kindness, support and friendship.
