Obituary for Debra Lee Gerschke (Worm)

Debra “Deb” Lea Gerschke Worm was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and dedicated friend. She left this world after a short and courageous battle with cancer on May 12, 2022 at the age of 71 surrounded by family and loved ones.

Deb is survived by her husband, Jeffery Gerschke of 26 years, her two sons Ryan Hauenstein, Grandson Nathan, Jarret Hauenstein and Grandson Huntlee, Stepson Jeremy Gerschke, his wife Colleen their son Carter, Stepdaughter Jennifer Iwanski, her husband Dennis and their three children, Levi, Hudson and Madelyn. She is also survived by her two sisters, Barbara Kostecki (Bill) and Doni Anderson. She was also a proud Aunt to Deena, Bill, Nick and Andy.
Deb is proceeded in death by her parents, Donald and Doris Worm.

Deb graduated from Brookfield East High School in Brookfield Wisconsin in 1969, she worked at Trombetta Manufacturing in Milwaukee as a manager for over 20 years. After she retired, she enjoyed working in her yard, boating in the Summer with friends and watching the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoons. She was always so happy when she had the chance to get out in the sun and enjoy time on the area waterways with friends and family. She and Jeff also enjoyed many ATV trips to Northern Wisconsin and Michigan.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday June 26th at Winkler’s Westward Ho, 4905 County Road S, Oshkosh from 1:00-4:00. In Leu of flowers, the family has set up a memorial fund in Deb’s name to the American Cancer Society.
