Obituary for Ellen Ann Reed
Ellen Reed, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 peacefully in her sleep. Ellen was born in Waupaca, WI on April 4, 1925 the daughter of Corey and Edith (Rasmussen) Wood.
Ellen married her husband, Clinton S. Reed, Jr. on March 20, 1962 in Galena, IL. Ellen was a licensed cosmetologist and after her children were born was a wonderful homemaker. Ellen enjoyed scrapbooking, needlepoint, quilting, puzzles, ballroom dancing and her cocktail – Brandy & 7. Ellen will be remembered for her spunk, wit and the love she had for her family and her grandchildren.
Ellen is survived by her children: Susan (Jeff) Lemiesz, Brian Reed and step-son, James Reed; three grandchildren: Spencer (Philip Seidman) Lemiesz, Michael (Brittany Harshbarger) Lemiesz and Sara (Jennifer Harvath) Lemiesz; and sister, Lois Dorschner; many nieces and nephews; and life-long friend, Ruth Strohschein.
Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton S. Reed, Jr. in 1986; her late husband, Norman “Bud” Neuschaefer in 1960; brothers: Kenneth (Marie) Wood and George (Louise) Wood; sisters: Dorothy (Lawrence) Winkler and Viona (Earl) Jorgenson.
The family extends a special thank you to the nurses at Aurora Medical Center and Aurora at Home Hospice for their wonderful care. Further, thank you to Rev. Karen Jewell for her care and commitment to Mom.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, WI on Tuesday, September 28 at 11am. A private family burial service will held at Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega, WI.
