Obituary for Frank C. Sanchez Jr.

Frank C. Sanchez Jr., age 61, of the town of Nekimi, passed away on May 26, 2021 from complications of Covid-19. Frank was born on November 11, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas, to Frank C. and Mary T. Sanchez Sr. of Omro, WI. Frank Jr. married his high school sweetheart Shari L. Thums in 1980, and they spent 40 very eventful years together. Frank and Shari lived in Germany for two years while Frank served his country in the U.S. Army as a truck Mechanic. Frank wore many other hats in his lifetime; in fact, he kept all his different hats in his truck to change into depending on where he was going. He was proud to be the Fire Chief of the Nekimi Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years. He also served as the Service Director for the Nekimi First Responders; it didn’t matter how late or how bad the weather was you would always hear “Tom-100 for Nekimi responding” on the radio. Frank was also a Chief Steward for the Local UAW 578 Union and spent many long hours representing his fellow workers. Frank worked for Oshkosh Corporation for 37 years where many people knew and respected him. Frank loved all forms of music. Frank and Shari built their own D.J. business over the years (Rhythm of the Night) and he loved playing music for any occasion, even big bonfire parties at their home. There are so many people that will miss his kind heart and beautiful smile.

Frank is survived by his heartbroken wife, Shari: daughter, Christina (Johnny) Sanchez; son, Andrew (Crystal) Sanchez; and the treasures of his life, granddaughter MacKenzie and grandson Camden. Frank is also survived by his parents, Frank C. and Mary T. Sanchez Sr.; sisters: Nina (Jeff) Woods, Diana (Bill) Hasch, Nancy (Tom) Behlke and Norma (Gary) Sanchez; brother, Jaime (Shanna) Sanchez; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Frank Jr. is preceded in death by his infant son, Randall, who was always on his mind. Frank Jr. will be greatly missed by many, too numerous to list.

A service will be announced at a later date.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff in the I.C.U. at Mercy for their wonderful care.
