Obituary for Gerald W. Gialdella

Gerald “Jerry” W. Gialdella, age 68, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. He was born in Beckley, WV on June 23, 1952 the son of the late George and Opal (Johnson) Gialdella. On November 12, 2013 he married Becky Bonner Holden in Shelbyville, TN. Most recently, Jerry was proud to be a member of I.B.E.W. Local 577 Electrician Union out of Appleton. In addition to this, he had owned and operated a dairy farm and was good at fixing things, especially cars. He was an inventor and global patent holder who was in pursuit of making this world a better place. Jerry will be remembered most for the love he had for music, his studios, and the many bands with which he played bass. He especially enjoyed being with his family and playing with his grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Becky; children: Jessica Gialdella, Erik (Anna) Gialdella, Jillene (Jacob) Buckner; step-son, Derrick Holden; step-daughters: Shanni Garner and Jessica Luker; grandchildren: Caleb Gialdella, and Zephyr and Tempest Buckner; step-grandchildren: Genevieve Garner, Elizabeth Garner and Allison Luker; brother, George (Sharon) Cialdella; step-brothers: Bill (Sue) James and John (Hilde) James; and former spouse, Karen Gialdella. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ryan Gialdella; step-brother, Bob James; and step-mother, Mary Gialdella; and step-father, James Wall.

A visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the celebration of life at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 28, 2021 at River Valley Church, 1331 High Ave., Oshkosh. A memorial service will also be held in Shelbyville, TN at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jerry’s name to the American Cancer Society.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff at the Michael D. Wachtel Cancer Center at Mercy and to Compassus Hospice for their wonderful care.
