Gloria Lentz, age 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at The Residence of Oshkosh on Monday, February 27, 2023. She was born in Oshkosh on May 25, 1929 to Harry and Esther (Nimmer) Bettin. Gloria married Edward Lentz on September 8, 1951. Together they had three children. Gloria was a graduate of Oshkosh High School. In 1947, she started a job at Oshkosh National Bank. She took time off to have their children and eventually returned to her job at the bank. She retired in 1993 after 36 years of working there.

After retirement, Gloria cared for her mother in their home. It was important for her to keep her mom out of a nursing home. Gloria enjoyed tending to her flowers in her back yard. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was in a card club with her “Club Girls” for over 50 years. They assembled monthly at each other’s homes for game playing, snacks, drinks, and lively conversation. Gloria was a member of Martin Luther Church in Oshkosh. She also enjoyed her time on the Oshkosh Museum Auxiliary.

Gloria is survived by two of her children, Kim (Greg) Lentz Grau, Wausau, and Troy (Susan) Lentz, Oshkosh; grandchildren Bill, Walter & Emmalyn Grau, Mark (Molly) and Sara Lentz, Cade & Evan Lentz, and one great-grandson, Oliver Odette. Gloria is also survived by sisters-in-law Dorothy (Mark) Brey and Vanis Bettin. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, her son, Gene, and her brothers Harry (Juice)Bettin and Robert Bettin.

Gloria has been cremated and her final resting place will be at Lakeview Memorial Park. A memorial service will be held sometime this summer.
