Heather M. Karas was born on March 20, 1976. She passed from this earth on April 20, 2020.

Heather attended Oshkosh North High School. Shortly after, she met and fell in love with Brian Conley - her partner for over 20 beautiful years. Heather was deeply devoted to her children, Justin and Brandon, and loved them unconditionally.

While Heather had held other jobs in the past, she most recently worked at The Cafe on the Lawrence University campus. It was here that she would meet and care for hundreds of college students. While working was important to Heather, she most enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends.
Heather was an avid thrift shopper and loved finding a good deal. She was frequently on the search for new knick-knacks. She adored Precious Moments figurines and had several well stocked curio cabinets. Heather also had a collection of cows that started in the kitchen - her family lovingly liked to point out that they had begun to migrate to other parts of her home.

Heather had an admiration for nature and wildlife. She not only cared for her three cats, but loved checking in on her friends pets too. She enjoyed going for walks and planting flowers. She was particularly fond of lilacs and had several around her home.

Heather was preceded in death by her grandparents Florence Schwoch and Kenneth Karas; and her Aunt Maggie Stowell.

Heather will be lovingly remembered by her partner Brian Conley; her dear sons Justin Karas and Brandon Conley; her best friend and family at heart Meredith Hammond; her mother Elizabeth (Karas) Kelly (John); her father Timothy Cooley (Brenda); her sisters Crystal Cooley and Shannon Cooley; Aunts Barb Bennett and Cathy Roberts; cousins John and Sarah Reiser; along with countless close friends and loved ones.

Thank you to all the caring hearts who have helped make this possible - your contributions and kindness mean more than words can say. A special thank you to those at Fox Cities Funeral Home for your guidance.

When the family and the world have healed, a memorial will be planned to celebrate Heather and our love for her. At this time, flowers or donations for the family can be sent to 1929 Olive St., Oshkosh, WI 54901.

There are some who bring a light so great to the world, that even after they have gone, the light remains.

I don't really personally know her, but I remember vividly that one time she was about to take my order at the counter, a guy (a bon app staff) behind her tried to "fight" her (as a joke) -- she turned and "beat up" that guy one-handed within an instant, and then she turned to me, asked me what I want, as if nothing happened XD man... she really seemed like a fun person, I wish I had the chance to know her better.
