Obituary for James Vernon Rice
James V. Rice, 73, passed away July 16 2022. He was born December 9, 1948.
James loved to go fishing, hunting and always found time to socialize with his friends. He worked at Jewish Vocational Services and Oil Gear. He proudly served in the U.S. NAVY and after active duty, went on to become second-in-command of the American Legion of Ladysmith, WI.
James is survived by his significant other, Catherine Figahs; children, Shannon Rice, Jason Rice, and James Rice; sister, Colleen Balaka; and brother, David Forrest. He is further survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son, William Rice; his parents; brother, John Rice; sister, Helen Goehl.
He will be laid to rest at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring Street, Union Grove, WI 53182 with graveside service taking place on August 15, 2022 at 9AM.
