Obituary for Jerry Joseph Heintz

Jerry Joseph Heintz, age 86, passed away peacefully in his home on May 29, 2023, with his family at his side. He was born on August 10, 1936 in Oshkosh, WI to the late Lester and Gladys Heintz. Jerry married Dorothy (Wagner) Heintz on October 1, 1960 at St Mary’s Catholic Church. Jerry worked as a Firefighter for 30 years with the Oshkosh Fire Department from 1961 through 1991 where he retired at the rank of Captain. He also worked part-time for several years at Miller Clock Service where he liked repairing clocks, especially grandfather clocks. He enjoyed art and loved to draw, sketch and paint. He also enjoyed going to Planet Perk to have coffee and conversation with his family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son, Jerome (Cathleen) Heintz; daughter, Stephanie (Larry) Hammerseng; four grandchildren: Marlena (Ardit) Murataj, Jacob (Malorie) Heintz, Sydney (Ryan) Scholl and Charis Heintz, and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by many other friends and family.

Jerry is preceded in death by his sister, Jacquelyn Pytel, his brother Jean Heintz, brother-in-law Mike Pytel and nephew Mike Pytel.

Visitation will be held at Lake View Memorial Park, 2786 Algoma Blvd, Oshkosh on Friday, June 2, from 12pm until 2pm and a Memorial Service will be held following. Inurnment will take place at 3pm.
