Obituary for Joyce Darlene Thill (Schmidt)
Joyce D. (Schmidt) Thill, age 86, of Oshkosh, passed away at her home Wednesday, April 28, 2021.
Joyce was born March 13, 1935, in Illinois, daughter of the late Fred Schmidt and Dorothy (Stead) Schmidt. On May 19, 1956, she married Kenneth Thill. Joyce was employed with the Visiting Nurses Association (Mercy Medical Center) as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1998. During retirement, Joyce volunteered for Passport 55, collected antique irons/white pitchers, and researched/genealogy for her family.
She is survived by her husband: Kenneth Thill; two children: Michael (Paula) Thill and Diana (Mark) Ruedinger; grandchildren: Christine (fiancé Fletcher Hauck) Thill, Andrew Thill, Brian Ruedinger, Brice (Cindy) Ruedinger; one sister and two brothers; along with many nieces, nephews, and other family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Thomas, her two sisters and two brothers.
Cremation has occurred at the Fox Cities Funeral & Cremation Services and per Joyce’s wishes, no service will be held. Joyce will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic and Aurora at Home. An extra special thanks to her Hospice nurse, Mary and her sister, Linda who shared their care and compassion with Joyce during her final days at home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be made in Joyce’s name to Advocap Nutritional Program.
