Obituary for Kathleen Lois Banaszak (Lemke)

Kathleen Lois Banaszak, age 83, entered eternal life on February 8, 2022, in her daughter’s home in Oshkosh.
Kathy was born to Clarence and Eva Lemke on January 15, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from (Wisconsin) Lutheran High School and was employed at Brady Corporation where she met her husband, Fred. Kathy and Fred were married on August 26, 1961, and enjoyed 58 years together. Kathy worked as a sales associate at Kohl’s Department Store in Menomonee Falls for over 25 years. She enjoyed gardening and tending to plants and flowers at her home and at the family cottage. By God’s grace, Kathy was devoted to her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus, and to her family. She loved spending time with family members at home, on special occasions and fun vacations.

Kathy is survived by her children Colleen, Tom, Peter (Karen), and Andy (Erin); special and very much loved family member, Debbie; her grandchildren Samantha (Ryan), Erica, Kaila (Rick), Seth, Zak, Ashley, Paige, and Morgan; her great-grandchildren Addison and Nolan; her brother David (Marilyn); as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Kathy was preceded in death by her husband Fred, her sisters Judy and Liz, and her daughter-in-law Kristy (Tom).

Per Kathy's wishes, a celebration of Kathy's life and victory in Christ will be held privately with family members at the family cottage. An Open House Memorial Gathering in honor of Fred and Kathy's lives in Christ will be held in the fellowship area at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls, WI, from 1:00-4:00pm on Saturday, March 5. Light refreshments will be served.

Please do not send flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in Kathy’s honor to Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls, WI, and Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in Jackson, WI.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23
