Obituary for Margaret Alice Chester (Dibble)

Margaret Chester, 81, passed away in Neenah, WI on August 28, 2022 with her family by her side. She was born to Robert and Margaret Dibble in Oshkosh, WI on February 3, 1941.

Margaret attended UW-Oshkosh and received a Bachelor of Science in Human Services in 1990. She was hard working, often having several jobs at the same time. She worked as an AODA counselor, taught classes at the technical college, was involved in adult foster care, was a volunteer guardian for Winnebago County and served on the C.A.N Board in the 1990’s. Margaret loved quilting, shopping with her sisters during their annual MOAW weekends, spending time with her family and taking road trips.

She is survived by her son, James (Brenda) Chester II; daughter, Julie (Earl Jr.) Nelson; grandchildren, Braden and Brett Chester, Hunter, Cole, and Lauren Nelson; sisters, Barbara Abplanalp, Bobbi (Lowell) Reepsdorf, Susie (Terry) Gustke; brother, Dan (Jennifer) Dibble; former husband, James Chester Sr.; and her beloved cat, Jaeda. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Preceding Margaret in death are her parents, Robert and Margaret; sister, Pat (Bob) Gilane; brother-in-law, Dick Abplanalp; nephews, Kris Bye, Tommy Reepsdorf, and Brock Dibble; and her special friend Ron Stiemsma.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Drive, Oshkosh, on September 16, with visitation from 9am to 11am and mass to follow.

Burial will take place at St. Michael's Cemetery at 3:30p.m. in Suring WI.

A memorial is being established.

The family extends a special thank you to the top quality and compassionate staff at Parkview Health Center for all the care they gave Margaret in her time there, as well as the staff on the 5th floor at ThedaCare Regional in Neenah.
