Obituary for Mary J Palmquist

Mary Jane Palmquist, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday November 19, 2018 with family by her side.
Mary was born in Oshkosh, WI on December 22, 1938. Mary had always enjoyed cooking, baking, bowling, golf, and cheering on her children and grandchildren at all their sporting events. Mary volunteered at Silver Sneakers at the YMCA, The Food Pantry, and Mercy Medical Center. She was very active at Christ Lutheran Church and enjoyed being a part of Bible studies each week. She was an avid member of the Oshkosh Choraliers and enjoyed singing. Like her husband Rich, she was a dedicated follower of the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers.

Mary is survived by her children Jodi (Mike Lorrig of Appleton), Eric (Laurie Palmquist of Oshkosh), Kari (Chad Sweeting of Oshkosh), and Andrew (Hailey Palmquist of Oshkosh), and their grandchildren Cody and Nicole Palmquist, Dakota and Mckenzi Lorrig, Danielle, Lindsey and Lauren Sweeting, and Isaiah, Connor, and Keirah Palmquist. She is also survived by her three sisters Aundra (Jerry) Kohlbeck, Gail (Tom) Lorge, Karen (Steve) Scheuermann, and brother Bill (Dot) Tully. She is also survived by her good friends Jackie Boese and Betty Kuhnz. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents William and Margaret, and her in-laws.

The family would like to thank her neighbors Dave and Cheri, Ralph and Bonnie, and Lucy for all of their help. They would also like to thank the ICU at Mercy Medical Center especially Dr. Edwards and Dr. Roberts for the care she received.

The visitation will be held on Thursday November 29, 2018 at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Church Ave Oshkosh, WI from 2:30pm-5:30pm with service to follow officiated by Pastor Connie Weiss. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Mary’s name to Christ Lutheran Church and donations can be made to Oshkosh Choraliers.

Until we meet again, we find comfort knowing you are with your savior, Jesus Christ. We love you and will miss you greatly.
