Obituary for Nedeen Sheryl Curtis (Blanchard)

Nedeen S. Curtis, 80, passed away on March 30, 2022, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on January 23, 1942, to Harold and Bernice Blanchard. Nedeen was married to Orvis “Merle” Curtis and together they had two children. Nedeen loved going out with her sisters to local restaurants for breakfast and lunch. She especially loved going to West End Pizza and sharing time with her children and granddaughters. Nothing was more satisfying than topping off a pepperoni pizza with a Bloody Mary in her hand. Nedeen enjoyed her time watching the Wisconsin Badgers and, of course, her beloved Green Bay Packers. One of her favorite evening things to do was to check out the fullness and color of the moon each night.

She was survived by her children, Teresa and Kenneth Curtis; and granddaughters, Nicole and Amanda Borden and MaKayla Kok; four brothers, Darrell, Duane, Ronald, and Timothy Blanchard; four sisters, Joyce (Robert) Wiles, Gail (Daniel) Carrick, June Zentner, and Pamela (Clyde) Gruse; brother-in-laws, Jim (Pam) Curtis, and Keith Curtis; sister-in laws, Jean Blanchard and Carol Guenther; and many nieces and nephews. Nedeen was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Bernice Blanchard; husband, Orvis “Merle” Curtis; Sister, Karen Curtis; brother, Marvin Blanchard; brother-in-law, Bruce Curtis, John Zentner, and Franklin Guenther; sister-in-laws, Catherine Blanchard and Margie Curtis.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society. Nedeen’s family would like to give a special “Thank you” to all the nurses on the second floor of Mercy Medical Center for their compassionate, loving care – Thank you all! Due to Nedeen’s wishes, there will be no service.
