Obituary for Patti Jeanne Nigl

Lee A. Nigl, 70, and his wife Patti J. Nigl, 67, of Oshkosh, went to their eternal home within days of each other. Lee, born in Oshkosh on September 20, 1951 to Arlyn and Ruth (Crowner) Nigl, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021, with his wife, Patti, at his side. Patti, born in Oshkosh on March 14, 1954 to Edward and Dorothy (Farber) Kolaske, passed away and reunited with her beloved husband on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, with her grandchildren at her side and her brother, sister in-law, other family members, and close friends nearby.

Lee was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Catholic Church of Oshkosh. He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1970, served in the National Guard, and attended Fox Valley Technical College. Lee was employed at the Leach Company for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family in his free time. He was kind to everyone he met and could converse for hours.

Patti was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Oshkosh. She graduated from Lourdes High School in 1973. She was employed at Winnebago County Social Services for many years. Patti spent most of her time surrounding herself with family and watching over her grandchildren as they grew up.

Lee and Patti married on November 15, 1980 after being introduced by friends and becoming inseparable. They would remain inseparable for the remainder of their lives, even in their departure to their heavenly home. They were strong in their faith and loved the Lord, family, and church. They had a deep love and pride for their family and shared a very special bond with their grandchildren.

Left to cherish their memory are grandchildren: Alex Nigl, Brianna (Sal Victoria) Nigl, and Brennan (Samantha) Pulver. Lee’s son and Patti’s step-son: Paul (Sandra) Nigl. Daughter in-law: Shirley Hyde. Great grandchildren: Brentin, Eli, and Talia Nigl, and Madelyn Pulver. Furry great grandchild: Midas. Lee’s brothers: Larry (Peggy) Nigl and Lon (Denise Dumont-Meyer) Nigl. Patti’s brother: Michael (Debbie) Kolaske. Special friends and neighbors, Mike and Kathy Levenhagen. As well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends in Christ.

We are comforted knowing that Lee and Patti are reunited in Heaven along with Lee’s son and Patti’s step-son, Scott; each of their parents; and their beloved dog, Buddy.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aurora Hospital, especially Becky, for their kindness, compassion and gentle care for Lee and Patti.

Funeral services for Lee and Patti will be held at Valley Christian School (3450 Vinland St Oshkosh) on Saturday November 6, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Paul Turner officiating. Family and friends may arrive and visit from 12:00 PM until the hour of services. Food and refreshments will follow.
