Rebecca Banks fell asleep in death on December 4, 2019. She was born on April 18, 1939 in Mason, Mississippi to Bob Brown and Amie Williams. She attended T.Y. Flemming School district.
She is survived by her two sisters, Willie Mae Smith and Bertha (Edward) Adams; 10 children, George (Lillie) Hardmon, Tommy Lee Hardmon, Ethel Rene Hardmon, Betty Ann Hardmon, Daniel Lee Hardmon, Donnell Hardmon, Bonnie Banks Hardmon, Kayla Zhane Banks, Alison Banks, and Anthony L. Banks; 27 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father Bob Brown, mother Amie Williams; brothers, L.C. Brown, Henry Brown, Rufus Brown, James T. Brown and Issac Brown; Sisters, Laura Mae Hawkins, Essie Mae Butler, Estella Metcalf, and Mabel Boyd; children, Samuel Hardmon, Emmanuel Hardmon, Mary Elizabeth Hardmon and Deloise Hardmon; grandsons, Joseph O’Brien Deville Hardmon, and Rashun O’Brien Richardson.
Rebecca was a loving foster mother to 28 children, she adopted 3 as her own. She was known for her cooking and hospitality. To family and friends, she was also known as “Aunt Beck,” “Aunt B,” and “Becky.”
She worked as a nanny for many years. She dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized in 1973.
