Obituary for Rick Phillip Schiessl

With sadness in our hearts,we share the passing of Rick P. Schiessl of Omro, formerly of Oshkosh WI.  Rick was born in Oshkosh on August 15, 1968, the youngest child of Thomas and Ellouise (Whalen) Schiessl.  Rick graduated from Oshkosh West High School.  He married Tara (Sanders) on August 25, 2001, at St. Raphael's Church in Oshkosh.  They were blessed with two great sons: Evan and Jack who were the light of his life.  Rick worked various jobs over the years the most recent being EAA and then Pierce Mfg. until becoming disabled.  Rick loved spending time with his boys.  He also loved being outdoors, fishing, motorcycles, playing poker, watching the Packers, a good whiskey, and thoroughly enjoyed many “deer camps” and the cottage in the Townsend area.

Rick will be deeply missed by his wife, Tara and his sons Evan and Jack, all of Omro, his parents Tom and Ellie Schiessl of Oshkosh, sister Lori (Glen) Tank, brothers Tim and Dan (Kelly) Schiessl all of Oshkosh.  Rick is also survived by parents in law Mark and Sally Sanders of Oshkosh, brother-in-law Clint (Erin) Sanders of Ripon, and grandmother in law Laura Langenhorst of Oshkosh WI along with many other special relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.  Rick was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Ray and Olive Schiessl, maternal grandparents Jim and Bernadine Whalen, special cousin Sean Hamill, special niece Jamie Tank, and other special aunts and uncles.  Cremation has taken place.  A private family celebration of life is planned.  Fox Cities Funeral is assisting the family.
