Obituary for Scott Eugene Schmude
Scott E. Schmude of Oshkosh, WI, passed away on May 17, 2022 at the age of 66 after a short illness at Ascension NE WI- Mercy Campus.
Scott was born on August 20th in Oshkosh, WI. Scott graduated Oshkosh High School in 1973. He was known to be adventurous during his younger years; just ask his two brothers, cousins, and lifelong friend Keith Kinderman. He had many four-legged friends through the years. His most recent was his weimaraner, Ash, who preceded him in death.
Scott was fortunate to have a large and loving family. Scott was blessed with many wonderful children and grandchildren. He loved sharing the things that brought him joy with his children and grandchildren by taking them to “The Land”, teaching them to hunt, fish and play video games. They brought joy and happiness into his life.
Scott could be found frequently spending time at his happy place in Mount Morris at The Land watching the birds, taking in the local wildlife and spending quality time over a roaring fire with family and friends enriching his soul profoundly. Scott enjoyed his hobby of photography, in his later years, capturing the peace and serenity of nature at The Land and at home in Oshkosh.
Scott was the oldest son of Eugene E. Schmude and Dolores J. Schmude. Scott is survived by his mother, two brothers Tim (Pam) Schmude and Andrew (Lisa) Schmude. Scott is furthermore survived by his three children D'Lynn Horstman, John (Mindi) Schmude; Sarah (Manny) Arriaga and his grandchildren Daniel, Courtney, Kenzie, Addison, Emerson, Avry and Kaylee.
Scott is also survived by several nephews Noah (Leann) Schmude, Dan (Heather) Ehlke and David Davies. As well as his aunt Marilyn Slovick and uncles John (Ann) Krueger, Steve (Mary) Krueger and Paul Moylan as well as many cousins. Scott was proceeded in death by his father Eugene Schmude, aunts Janice McDermid and Karen Moylan and uncle Edward Slovick.
Scott will truly be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him. A “Celebration of Life & Memorial Service” will be held on Saturday, July 9th, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. –12:30 p.m., at South Park in Oshkosh, WI.
Flowers can be sent to Dolores Schmude for the Celebration of Life & Memorial Service; addressed to the Schmude Family. Thereafter or in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dolores Schmude.
