Susan Lee Seelhorst, 78, of Green Lake, WI, passed away on May 30th, 2022 of natural causes. Sue served as the Deputy Clerk / Treasurer for the city of Green Lake for over 20 years and regularly volunteered as an election official after her retirement.
Sue was born in San Diego, CA in 1944 while her father was serving as a United States Marine in the Pacific during WWII, and was raised in West Chicago, IL. She was an honor student who graduated from St. Francis High School in Wheaton, IL, in 1962. Sue had three children from a previous marriage, Michael, Theresa, and Deborah, before marrying Ned Seelhorst in 1978 and relocating to Green Lake, WI. Sue and Ned had two children together, Andrea and Mark.
Sue was a very active member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and performed music for weekly masses for several years. She enjoyed travel, and after her retirement took several trips throughout North America with her husband, Ned. Sue and Ned particularly enjoyed their trips to the western United States to visit family, national parks, and the city in which they were wed, Las Vegas, NV. She also enjoyed playing cribbage and participated in a local cribbage club.
Sue was a kind soul who deeply loved her family and took great joy in watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren grow. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her five children, Michael Klein, Theresa Klein (Rick Christens), Deborah Buelter, Andrea Chapman (Shaun Chapman), and Mark Seelhorst, her siblings, Shirley Axelson (Dave Axelson), Cindy Marsala (Joe Marsala), and Ken Rogers (Julie Rogers), her brother-in-law, Jack Andrews, her sister-in-law, Margie Rogers, her three grandchildren, Alex Buelter (Samantha Buelter), Jonathan Gieringer, and Kayla Christens, her two great grandchildren, Maxton and Ryla Buelter, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ned Seelhorst, her parents, Bernice Birsen Rogers and Thomas Jefferson Rogers, and her siblings Thomas Edward Rogers, Michael Edward Rogers, and Diane Marie Andrews.
A visitation with the family will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church on Friday, June 10th at 11:00 am with a funeral Mass to follow at 12:00 pm. Sue’s interment ceremony at Dartford Cemetery will take place immediately after Mass. A luncheon for family and friends will be held at Our Lady of the Lake after the internment.
