Obituary for Terry Eugene Glass

Terry Eugene Glass, 64, on July 16, 2021 peacefully left his earthly body behind after a long struggle with COPD.

Terry was a unique and special soul full of southern charm and witty one-liners, that always brought a laugh. He had a calming presence about him that made people feel welcome and put a smile on their face. He was always the voice of encouragement to those that knew him. You could depend on him for a hug, a comforting word after sharing your woes and someone to tell you "everything's going to be okay" (and magically you just felt better hearing it from him with that Georgia drawl).

Terry moved here in the mid 80"s when he literally hitchhiked here from Florida to be a father to his 2 year old daughter! What a beautiful example of what selfless love truly looks like.

Before Terry's health declined, he enjoyed a full life. He grew up in the south, where he spent some time, as he put it, performing "surgery" on Cyprus trees and working as a volunteer fireman. He spent most of his working years dedicated to the general management of several popular establishments in the Oshkosh area.

After a couple years in Oshkosh he met and married his wife of ten years and had two additional children. He loved his family, children and grandchildren, very much, they were his whole world.

Terry loved to fish and sing karaoke where he could belt out Elvis Presley songs just like the king himself, dance moves included! He loved his Wisconsin sports and was an avid fan until the very end. The bucks were the last thing he watched before slipping away from us.

His gentle and loving spirit will be incredibly missed by his family and all who knew him. He is survived by two daughters, Monica Glass and Riley Glass, one son, Ty Glass, two sisters, Chrystal (Eric) Gaulden of Donaldsville, GA and Renee Wilkerson of Swainsboro, GA, his ex-wife and best friend, Deirdre Letourneau, nine grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, special "adopted" son Chris Lieske and long-time roommate and friend Jeff Cady. He was proceeded in death by his parents William and Bobbye (Wood) Glass, four brothers, Billy Glass, Ricky Glass, Gary Glass,
Rodger Kiplin “Kip” Glass and one Nephew Lee Middleton.

A memorial, balloon release and celebration of life will be held on Saturday August 7th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at 1007 E. Murdock, Oshkosh ,the last place Terry considered home. There will be light refreshments served. Terry would expect us to miss him but wouldn't want us too sad and morbid. We can shed tears, but also share stories, memories and laughs. You can even feel free to wear any Wisconsin sports team. Something tells me Terry would defiantly get a kick out of that!

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to truth initative, America's largest non-profit organization dedicated to a future where tobacco and nicotine addiction are a thing of the past. Terry would be proud to say he died a non-smoker. He quit two months proceeding his death. He said a couple weeks before he died, "If I would have known it was this easy, I would have quit years ago". By no means is it "easy" but it is much easier than losing your life little by little as you become chained to a tank of oxygen. Lots of self-induced torture in this slow suicide. One in five people will die a tobacco-related preventable death. Consider a donation today,

Many thanks and heartfelt appreciation go out to all who have remembered Terry and family at this difficult time.
