Tisdale “Ted” Phillip Furman Jr., age 85, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. He was born in Oshkosh on June 20, 1936 the son of the late Tisdale and Hazel (Vosburg) Furman Sr. On January 22, 1955 he married his wife of 66 years, Colleen Fitzpatrick. “Teddy the Teaser” worked as a supervisor for Winnebago County Highway Department and the Winnebago County Landfill, retiring after 40 years. He loved being in the outdoors and enjoyed: camping, deer hunting and traveling. Ted will be remembered for the love he had for his hard work, kind heart and the love he had for his family.
Ted is survived by his wife, Colleen: children: Ricky (Connie) Furman, Phillip “Corky” (special friend, Lynete Lujeck) Furman and Patricia Schultz; grandchildren: Stephanie (Matt) Nourollah, Jeff (Carrie) Schultz, Nicholas (Stephanie) Furman and Ashlee (Brock) Saunders; great grandchildren: Olivia, Braelyn, Paxton, Briar, Linkin, Kaysyn, Reagan, Rylie and a baby girl on the way; brothers and sisters: Judy (Ron) Buser, Jean Furman, Linda (Chuck) Pavlak, Robert (Carmen) Furman, Richard (JoAnn) Furman and Randall (Cathy) Furman. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronnie (Alice) Furman; and sister, Donna Berens and her former husbands: Kenneth Schrieber and Howard Berens.
A visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 700 W. Linwood Ave., Oshkosh, with Rev. Russ Frees officiating. Inurnment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Oshkosh.
