Obituary for Lois Ann Sagmeister

Lois Ann  Sagmeister
Lois A. Sagmeister, age 89, of Oshkosh passed away peacefully at her lake home residence on Monday, February 26, 2018 with her companion, Missy, by her side. She was born on August 13, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Harold and Betty (Van Orden) Malkowsky. Lois married Alvin C. Sagmeister on November 18, 1950 and they were married for 59 years. Al passed away June 23, 2010. Lois graduated from Oshkosh High School and worked at the Oshkosh Overall Company. Lois raised Al’s and her three children, Steve, Karen and Gary. She enjoyed travelling early on in life, raising countless dogs, doing crosswords and living on the lake. Lois was a longtime member of St. Paul’s UCC.

Lois is survived by her three children, Steve (Dianne) Sagmeister, Karen (David Leschke) Neubauer, Gary (Bonnie) Sagmeister; six grandchildren, Aaron (Kori) Sagmeister, Heather (Mark) Hein, Jennifer Koch, Kevin Neubauer, Stevie-Marie Sagmeister and Brock Sagmeister; and six great-grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan Sagmeister, Layla and Garret Hein, and Jacob and Alana Koch; a sister, Margie (Herbert) Stewart; nieces, nephews and friends as well as her loving dog, Missy.

Lois was preceded in death by her older sister, Dawn (Robert) Gehling.

Based on Lois’ wishes, her body has been cremated and her ashes will be spread with her husband Al’s ashes. The family will be holding a private memorial service to celebrate Lois’ life and never-ending love for her family.

The family would like to extend a word of gratitude to the City of Oshkosh Police Department and Winnebago County Coroner’s Office for the compassion and professionalism extended to our family at this time of sorrow.
