Obituary for Donald Tyler

Donald Vern Tyler


Donald Vern Tyler, age 77 of Oshkosh, died at home on Wednesday March 14, 2007, after a long struggle with COPD. He was born on August 29, 1929, in Winnebago, WI, the son of the late Vern and Harriet (Jones) Tyler. Don was a purchasing agent for Badger Lumber for over 25 years. During most of these 25 years, he resided in Omro with his family. He enjoyed gardening, especially growing roses, playing sheepshead, was a great storyteller, who could spin a tale with the best of them, could fix anything that needed fixing, and in his later years enjoyed surfing the internet looking for recipes, as he became quite an accomplished cook. Don is survived by his wife of 54 years, Suzanne Jungwirth Tyler, their five children, Terry (Dawn) Tyler, Kathy (Paul) Schneider, all of Oshkosh, Randy (Valerie) Tyler, Charleston, SC, Vicki (Pierre) Nielloux, of Finestret France, Mike Tyler, of Oshkosh, eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Robert and Marvin Tyler. Private family services for Don are being held in accordance to the Tyler family's wishes.
