Frederic “Fred” Charles Banaszak, age 82, entered eternal life on April 25, 2020. He passed peacefully in his daughter’s home with his beloved wife of 58 years at his side.
Fred was born to Phillip and Florence Banaszak on January 22, 1938, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He graduated from Jefferson Senior High School, served in the US Navy for three years, attended MATC in Milwaukee for Data Processing/Computers, and retired from a 40-year career with Brady Corporation. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was devoted in his love of family and faith in God. He was an active disciple of Jesus at Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he impacted many through numerous ministry roles including Lutheran Boy Pioneers, congregation president and other service positions. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Fred is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his children: Colleen, Tom (Kristy), Peter (Karen), and Andy (Erin); special and very much loved family member, Debbie; his grandchildren: Samantha (Ryan), Erica, Kaila (Rick), Seth, Zak, Ashley, Paige, and Morgan; his great-grandchild, Addison; his siblings: Phyllis (Don), and Dennis (Lori); as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Fred's life and victory in Christ will be held privately with immediate family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Fred’s honor to Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin and Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School in Jackson, Wisconsin.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23

I volunteered with Fred for many years at this hospital, he was such a kind and compassionate person. He liked talking about his family most of all, and we had many good laughs. Things won’t be the same without Fred. May he Rest In Peace in our Lord’s hands.

Mr. Banaszac was always a favorite camp leader every year at Lutheran Pioneer National Camp. He taught me how to canoe and kayak and I still have a passion for that activity to this day, thirty plus years later. He was a fine role model for all the young campers like me. He will be fondly remembered by my brothers and my parents. Enjoy heaven, Mr. B!

Happy for Fred's victory and new life in heaven. Fred was a great friend. We served together on the national Lutheran Boy Pioneer board. I'll remember many fun conversations to and fro to various meetings! God comfort all who mourn.
