Obituary for Gordon Gribble

Gordon M. “Gordy” Gribble, age 59 of Oshkosh, died Sunday afternoon, February 6, 2005 at Theda Clark Medical Center following a 2 year struggle with cancer. He was born May 7, 1945 in Richland County, WI., the son of Dwight and Drusilla (Christianson) Gribble. He was a graduate of Muscoda High School. Gordy moved to Oshkosh five years ago from Muscoda and worked at Bemis Manufacturing. All who knew Gordy will fondly recall his charm, charisma and love of life. He enjoyed sports, duck hunting, playing pool and cards.

Survivors include his sons, Jade of Burlington, WI., and Garren of Stanley, WI.; grandson, Ryder Elliott; mother, Drusilla Gribble of Muscoda; sister, Shirley (Dennis) Froh of Lodi, WI.; aunts, Lucille Cooper of Muscoda, Darlene Christianson of Viroqua and Amy Gribble of California; nephews, Mike, Jeff, Chad and Robb. He is further survived by the mother of his children, Karen Gribble of Muscoda, and special friend Kathy Bentz of Beaver Dam. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Sally Irene.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established.
