He married Betty Siddall at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waupun, on January 10, 1953. Jim was employed at American National Can at the Washington St. Plant and Graphic Arts for twenty eight years, until his retirement in 1986. In his younger years, he belonged to the Socialables Dance Club, enjoyed spending time at the cottage, going to Las Vegas, Friday night fish frys, proudly serving in the Army National Guard, and forming new friendships through the EAA Convention. In his later years, he enjoyed watching birds at the feeder, old western movies, watching lots of sporting events, but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law, Walter and Viola Siddall, one sister-in-law, Mary Armfield, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Memorial Mass for Jim will be held at 11:30 A.M., on Saturday, October 7th, 2006, at St. John's Catholic Church (Oshkosh) with the Rev. Fr. William Van de Kreeke officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, at the church, from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of services. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Jim's name to St. John's Catholic Church, and Father Carr's Place 2 Be. A special thanks to Father Bill for his visits, Affinity Hospice and Visiting Nurses, and Home Health Aides, especially Rich, Barb and Mary.
My Jim- The first time we met, you asked me to never leave you. I never did. When the Lord was calling you, I asked you to go. You did. One day we will meet again for the first time. I love you. Betty
