Obituary for Marlene Hetzel

Marlene Esther Hetzel, age 71, of Oshkosh. The angels and saints took her home to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 18, 2007, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born October 7, 1936 in Oshkosh, the daughter of Alois and Esther (Putzlaff) Mugerauer. Marlene attended and was a member of the 1954 Class of Oshkosh High School. Marlene had many hobbies in life; she especially enjoyed traveling, golfing, fishing, tennis, and spending time with family, grandchildren and friends. She married Eugene G. Hetzel on July 16, 1977 in Reno, Nevada. She had worked as an Instructional Assistant in the Public School System in California before retiring and moving back to Oshkosh. Marlene was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and the Christ Child Society of Oshkosh. Marlene is loved and will be missed by her husband, Eugene George Hetzel; children, Debra Ann (Fiancée John Cook) Johnson of Brazil, IN, Timothy John (Cheryl) Clark of Oshkosh, Diane Rose (Jim) Angle of Oshkosh, Douglas Richard (Mary) Clark of Oshkosh, Dean Alan (Robin) Clark of Noblesville, IN, Kathryn Ann Lenau of Sacramento, CA, Eugene George (Robin) Hetzel, Jr. of Sacramento, CA, and Linda Jean Gerholz of Gaylord, MN; 21 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Judy (Elmer) Heilsberg of Oshkosh, Nancy Poeschl of Oshkosh, Carol (Charles) LaFontaine of Cedarburg, WI; brother, Thomas (Debra) Mugerauer of Oshkosh; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother in law, Paul Poeschl. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, November 23, 2007 at St. Raphael Catholic Church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Memorial Mass at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Carl Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family extends a special and sincere thank you to the Hospice Staff at Mercy Medical Center and to Dr. Gremminger and her nurses, Monica and Wendy for the exceptional care given to Marlene and the rest of her family.
