Obituary for Patricia Jean Boettcher

Patricia Jean Boettcher, 81, of Winneconne, WI, died on October 2, 2016. She was born September 16, 1935, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Teresa (Jamell) Lourie. She graduated from Our Lady of Victory Academy, Waterloo, IA, in 1953. Pat married Dennis R. Boettcher in Waterloo, IA, on February 11, 1961, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. For many years Pat was a medical secretary in Waterloo, IA, and Minneapolis, MN. She was employed at Santa Claus Industries, Waterloo, IA, prior to moving to Wisconsin in 1974. She retired from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1998 after working exclusively with the Liberal Studies Degree Weekend Program for 22 years. Pat is survived by her daughter, Brenda (John) Nejedlo of Appleton, WI. She is also survived by two half-brothers (David and Walter Lourie, both of New Orleans, LA), and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died May 5, 2011, and her parents. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Winneconne, WI. Pat loved all the horses, dogs and cats that shared her life. Cremation has taken place per Pat’s wishes. A private inurnment service will be held at a later date. Contributions in her memory to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society would be greatly appreciated. Fox Cities Funeral & Cremation Services will handle the cremation arrangements. Brenda and John want to thank everyone at Affinity Visiting Nurses, and specifically Crystal H. (Social Work) and Pat’s hospice nurse, Ryan G. Many thanks also to Dr. Karen Gremminger, and LaDonna Henslee, APNP at Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology for their care and guidance. Brenda also wants to thank her colleague’s at Club Scrap, Inc. for allowing her to be with her mom during this journey, for the many friends who gave their love and support, and mostly for her husband, John, who was her rock during mom’s final months.
