Obituary for Rita Mason

Rita J. Mason, age 51 of Oshkosh, passed away Monday June 9, 2008 at Park View Health Center after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Oshkosh on August 8, 1956 the daughter of Roland and Dorothy Seidler Davis. Rita attended Oshkosh West High School, loved listening to the oldies, country line dancing, enjoyed outdoor things such as camping and gardening, spending time at the cottage, long talks over coffee about life and anything else you had a hard time dealing with, cooking for friends and family, especially during the holidays when she could serve up a huge meal that could feed an army, was a cat and dog lover, a big fan of the Green Bay Packers, going on Harley rides with her special friend Greg Walker, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to make her kids happy. She was the true meaning of unconditional love. Rita is survived by her loving mother, Dorothy Davis, husband David Mason, five sons, Christopher (Anne) Stevens, Michael Stevens, Justin (Barb) Stevens, James (Courtney ) Mason, Eric Mason, two step-daughters, Jessica (Ron) Freeman and Jennie (David) DePew, fifteen grandchildren, one brother, Michael (Nancy) Tomcyk, sister by heart, Linda (Gary) Jolly, special family friend and companion Greg "Chico" Walker, two loyal dogs, Whiskey and Bizkit, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Roland Davis and aunt Rose Thomas. A Memorial Service for Rita will be held on Thursday June 12, 2008 at 7:00 p.m., at Wyldewood Baptist Church with Pastor Lloyd Whittington officiating. Visitation will be held at church on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until time of services. The family would like to thank the staff at Parkview Health Center for the compassionate care they provided to Rita and the entire family
