Obituary for Ronald Schmidt

Ronald E. Schmidt, age 70 of Oshkosh, passed away Friday evening September 28, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, with his family by his side. Ron was born in Oshkosh on September 11, 1937, the son of Matthew and Irma (Woller) Schmidt. He was employed at Kingsbury Inc. of Oshkosh, for over forty years, and later was a part -time maintenance man at Lakefront Manor. Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, sitting and enjoying nature, and watching his beloved Chicago Cubs on television. Survivors include his wife of forty seven years, Suzanne (Groff) Schmidt, of Oshkosh, his four children, Randy (Diane) Schmidt, of Hancock, Mark (Sandra) Schmidt, Lori Schmidt, and Michael (Tanya) Schmidt, all of Oshkosh; seven grandchildren, Libby, Rachel, Kari, Ben, Jerred, Isabel, and Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Amelia; two sisters, Marilyn (Jack) Ferris, and Edith (Butch) Frahm; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A time of remembrance and fellowship for Ron will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at 11:00 A.M., at Fox Cities Funeral Home, with visitation to be held from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M.. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
