Obituary for Thomas Treichel

Thomas W. Treichel, age 59 of Oshkosh, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday June 12, 2008 at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born in Oshkosh on August 10, 1948 the son of Carl and Leone Andraschko Treichel. Tom attended Oshkosh High School, and later served active duty as a Specialist in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He married Alberta Griedl in 1970, and later married Linda Larson in 1980. Tom was a resident of Oshkosh for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music, bike riding, was an avid chess player and reader. Tom was a carpenter, who also worked at Leach Company and then went on to work for Oshkosh City Cab for many years. Tom is survived by his two daughters, Jean (Bob) Kaul, of Oshkosh, Tina (Ron) Powers, of Omro, six grandchildren, Jacob Batterman, Fond du Lac, Christopher, Nicholas, Timothy and Anna Powers, Omro, Jordan Treichel, Oshkosh, four step-grandchildren, Kelli Sohn and Sammy Powers, Omro, Jonathan and Katie Kaul, Oshkosh, one sister, Dixie Treichel, one brother, Jerry Treichel, one aunt, Linda (Mark) Husman, three nieces, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Carl Treichel. A Memorial Service for Tom will be held on Wednesday June 18, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at Fox Cities Funeral Home with Father Carl Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established
