Obituary for Virginia M. Goyke

Virginia M. Goyke, of Oshkosh, age 88, passed away at Park View Health Center on Thursday, May 7, 2015. She was born in Oshkosh on November 30, 1926, the daughter of the late Milton and Della (Stelzner) Grusnick. On June 14, 1947 she married Victor Goyke. Virginia worked for Mueller Potter Drug Store, Christensen’s, and the EAA Museum gift shop. She volunteered at EAA for many years during the conventions. Cards, cribbage, and bingo were among her favorite activities. Virginia will be remembered for her outgoing personality and witty remarks. Virginia is survived by her son, Steven (Rose) Goyke of Oshkosh; two grandchildren: Craig (Meghan) Goyke and Ann (special friend, Paul) Goyke; sister, Betty (Emil) Philipp; brother, James (Mary) Grusnick; sister-in-law, Terry Goyke; and brother-in-law, Ben (Kathy) Goyke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; her parents; sister, Marlene (Dave) Staudenraus; sister-in-law, Victoria (Gordon) Hansen; and brothers-in-law: Robert Goyke and Thomas (Mary Ann) Goyke.It was Virginia’s wish to be cremated with no services.The family extends a special thank you to the entire staff at Park View Care Center for their wonderful care. A memorial fund in Virginia’s name is being established for trees to be planted at South Park.
