Obituary for Yvonne DeMunck

Yvonne F. DeMunck age 86, of Pine River, Minnesota. Passed away peacefully on July 7, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer at Bethel Home in Oshkosh, WI. She was born in October 11, 1921 and was raised in Alton, IA. Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) DeMunck and daughter Claire Ann DeMunck. Yvonne and her family lived in a variety of places while her husband was employed by Pillsbury in Maine, California, Indiana, Minnesota, Ohio, and Venezuela. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling, card playing and was president of her Quilting club and in enjoyed the art of Bodopteek. She abandoned a medical career at the beginning of World War II to raise her family while her husband served in Europe and was again called up to serve overseas during the Korean War. She was a great and loving mother/grandma who always made time for others. She will always be remembered for her positive outlook on life, her warm smile, her knowledge of world events, her quilting, and lending a hand when people were in need of help. In lieu of a visitation and funeral service, Yvonne requested that her remains join her husband and daughter at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Left to morn her passing include Chuck DeMunck, her son, of Oshkosh, WI., sister- in- law Mary DeMunck, two grandchildren, Sonya and Kaitlyn DeMunck, and great grandchild Ryaan Williams.
